Who we are

Madge Treats is a bakery based at MQ63+3JW, Taifa, Accra, Ghana, and we are the people responsible for the information described on this page. You can reach us on hello@madgetreats.com or on WhatsApp at 059 604 5710.

The short version

This site is a set of static pages. It has no user accounts, no login, no shopping cart, no database, and no analytics or advertising trackers. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Our order and feedback forms

The order, cake builder, review and feedback forms on this site do not send anything to us when you fill them in. Everything you type stays in your own browser. When you press the send button, the form writes your answers into a WhatsApp message and opens WhatsApp so you can read it before sending it yourself.

That means nothing reaches us until you choose to send the message, and if you close the page without sending, your answers are simply gone. Once you do send it, the conversation lives in WhatsApp and is covered by WhatsApp's own privacy policy as well as this one.

What we keep from your messages

When you message us on WhatsApp or by email, we keep that conversation so we can bake your order, arrange delivery, answer questions and sort out any problems. That usually includes your name, your phone number or email address, your order details, and a delivery address if you give us one. We keep it for as long as we need it for our records, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Cookies and storage

We do not use cookies and we do not track you across websites. The site stores a single value in your browser's session storage to remember that you have already been shown our WhatsApp group invitation, so it does not pop up again and again. It contains no personal information and it is cleared when you close the tab.

Services we rely on

A few third parties are involved simply because the site has to be served to you and has to work:

• Our hosting provider — serves the pages to your browser and, like any web host, records standard server information such as your IP address in its logs.
• unpkg — a public code network that delivers the small animation library the site uses. Loading it exposes your IP address to that network.
• WhatsApp — used for orders, reviews and feedback, as described above.

Links to Instagram, Google Maps and WhatsApp take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies. Nothing from those companies is embedded in these pages.

Children

This site is meant for adults placing orders. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Get in touch and we will sort it out.

Because we operate in Ghana, Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) applies to how we handle your information. If you are not satisfied with how we have dealt with a request, you can raise it with the Data Protection Commission.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
