Ordering a birthday cake should be the fun part of planning a celebration, not the stressful part. If you are in Accra and wondering how it all works, what size to pick, what it costs, and how to get it delivered, this guide walks you through it step by step.
At Madge Treats we bake every cake fresh to order from our kitchen in Taifa, so there is no box mix and nothing sitting on a shelf. Here is everything you need to know before you message us.
1. Start with how many people you are feeding
The single most useful thing to tell us is roughly how many guests you are expecting. Cake size is really about servings, and picking the right one means nobody misses out and you are not left with a mountain of leftovers.
Here is a quick guide to how many party slices each size gives you:

For most birthdays we recommend a 6 inch, two layer cake or bigger. It gives a proper celebration cake with height to decorate, and it photographs beautifully. A single layer or the small 4 inch is lovely when the cake is just a treat for yourself or one or two people.

2. Pick a flavour
Our cakes come in four flavours: Vanilla, Red Velvet, Chocolate and Lemon. Red Velvet is a long-standing favourite for birthdays, but every one of them is made from scratch with real ingredients.
If you have a specific design in mind, send us a photo when you message. We will tell you honestly what we can do and quote the design for you.
3. Know the prices
Our cakes are priced by size and number of layers. These are base prices, and any custom toppings, fruit fillings or detailed designs are quoted separately.

So a classic birthday cake, a 6 inch two layer, starts at GHS 440 before any custom decoration. When you send us your design we will confirm the final price before anything is baked.
4. Order a little ahead
Because every cake is made fresh for your date, we ask that you order at least a day ahead. Once payment is confirmed we can deliver as early as the next working day. Larger and more detailed cakes need a bit more notice, so the earlier you message, the easier it is to lock in your date. We bake Monday to Friday, so plan around that for weekend celebrations.
5. Delivery across Accra
We deliver cakes door to door across Accra, Tema and Kasoa using Yango, Bolt or Uber, depending on availability. The delivery fare is usually between GHS 35 and GHS 200 depending on distance and traffic, and it is paid directly to the driver on arrival.
When you order, just share a map pin or a clear address with a landmark, and we will arrange a suitable vehicle. If you are celebrating somewhere outside these areas, tell us the location and date and we will work it out with you.
6. How to place your order
The whole thing happens on WhatsApp, and it takes a couple of minutes:
- Message us with the occasion and your date.
- Tell us the size, layers and flavour (or your guest count and we will suggest a size).
- Share any design photo you like.
- Give us the delivery area and a time.
Our team then confirms availability and the final price, sends you an invoice, and once payment is in we get baking. That is it.
